After a bunch of early speculation , it was announced last week that Google has acquired Aardvark . It didn't surprise me one bit that Google wanted to own Aardvark. Aardvark is completely awesome. Yahoo's been busy in Nebraska. This week, the company announced the opening of both a data center and a call center in the state, and apparently the celebration was a big deal, with Jerry Yang and several high(-ish) ranking politicians all showing up. Indeed, according to a post on Yodel Anecdotal , Jerry Yang, Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman, La Vista Mayor Douglas Kindig, Attorney General Jon Bruning, and Nebraska Congressman Lee Terry made appearances.

Motorola Droid, BlackBerry Bold 9700, LG Chocolate Touch and HTC Nexus One are pushing the limits of radiofrequency radiation safety limits set by the Federal Communications Commission, according to a new report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG). The EWG says the ads and good ratings for those smartphones do not reveal they are some of the highest radiation emitters among the phones currently on the market.

So finally, Yahoo and Microsoft got the clearance to implement terms and conditions of their search ad deal. Both the European Commission and U.S. Dept. of Justice have approved the deal which has been on the table for quite some time now. Both companies can now start implementing some of the terms and conditions of the deal, which would probably start with Yahoo transitioning its algorithmic and paid search platforms to Microsoft.
