On Friday the Wall Street Journal broke the news that Apple signed a lucrative deal in China with China Unicom to sell (what I call) a censored version of the iPhone (it has WiFi removed for "security reasons"). The deal will herald an impressive increase in Apple's phone share but what should not be missed is that Android somehow flew under the radar despite signing a similar deal with China Mobile; a company with 3 times the subscribers of China Unicom!

July's latest global search market study has been released by comScore , and just like previous months' results, Google still leads the pack followed by Yahoo, Chinese search engine Baidu and Microsoft. Overall global search market also registered a big increase - 113 billion searches were conducted in July 2009 which is a 41% leap from the same month last year. Expectedly, Google Sites got the biggest global market share with 76.

Yahoo! is expanding the number of SearchMonkey features set to default-on in their search results. The update is the result of the completion of testing microformat templates. Now, sites that provide structured data according to Yahoo!'s specified formats will automatically get SearchMonkey default-on status, allowing an enhanced result to be displayed in the SERPs.
