by Claudine Zap The sisters of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority have gone alpha on their president and want her removed. Their beef: Barbara McKinzie , while managing the sorority, was mismanaging the organization's funds. The biggest affront: A wax statue of the president's likeness that a lawsuit claims set the sorority back a cool $900,000. We have to admit, having a wax statue commissioned of yourself does sound like something Dr. Evil would do, if Dr. Evil ran a sorority.

Let's say you're a blogger. You've just returned from a trip to New York City, and you're writing a post on New York landmarks. You want to illustrate your travel guide with an image â?" as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. It's easy to find images of New York online. But you want to make sure that you don't use images without the permission of their owners, and you can't afford licensing fees for professional photographers. Today,

Imagine being a content developer for a website. You write a bunch of clever and informative articles, which should deliver a good dose of new visitors and ranking potential to the site. You submit them to the IT department for publishing online, and wait for good things to happen. But instead, it all falls flat. A look at your web analytics tools reveals that the number of site visitors has not increased over the time your new material was published.

I'm going to share a very basic, simple way to increase page views. It doesn't involve adding new pages to your website or rewriting content. All you really need to do is add one element on each of your web pages that will get people to click over more and visit your other pages. You can hard code this element in HTML or provide a widget. Either way and you can increase your page views.

Okay, I'm in double trouble on Twitter. Someone or something is posing as me on Twitter - not once, but twice. My image and bio can be found on at least two other accounts. Problem is, some tweets include links to XXXBlackBook, an X-rated site. (My employer isn't going to be happy about that.) Plus, a typical search on Twitter did not turn up this problem. Someone tipped me off to it instead. To make matters worse,

It doesn't look like too many people plan to do their back-to-school shopping online. eMarketer looks at a combination of studies from BIGresearch and the National Retail Federation, Deloitte, and OfficeMax. These studies paint similar pictures, and they just don't show too many intentions from parents to turn to the web as the school year draws near. In the first study, only a little over 22% said they would buy back-to-school items online.

While searching for firefox cache vista I just came across a plus icon at Google reading "Show more results from www...". Clicking it expands further results from the same domain dynamically, right on the page . Is this new? Or a prototype? Before - and still when I test in another browser - I'm not getting a plus, but a simple link, pointing to a new search (a search like site:www....com firefox cache vista ). In other Google result news,

Twitter just redesigned its homepage? You probably read about it but did you notice any changes ? Probably not unless you don't use Twitter at all. The "revamped homepage" as some pundits put it can only be seen when you're not logged in. I already wondered what strange marketing tactic this is when StumbleUpon has done that, relaunching the site for outsiders but not the members. For weeks signed in Stumblers couldn't see the new shiny homepage.
