ClickZ isn't the only industry trade to notice the absence of Platform-A in today's AOL press release about the appointment of Kate Burns as head of its European Sales. But it's worth noting here. This has some wondering what the future of Platform-A is. Here's my guess: AOL is phasing out the brand name, after only a couple years since its big unveiling. The biggest hint isn't today's press release. It's Jeff Levick's title.
Kate Burns has been tapped by AOL to lead its European Sales division. Burns formerly ran social network Bebo, which was acquired by AOL last year. Prior to that Burns spent time at Adlink and Google UK . "AOL has a solid foundation in Europe, with a strong Web presence in many countries and a leading advertising network, and I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues and with AOL's partners to build on this foundation," said Burns.
My name is Brandon, and I have achieved blogging success: I live with my wife's parents. Nobody knows who I am. And I am constantly asked, "When are you getting a real job?" Thankfully, Twitter needed a Kathy Griffin to join their Angelina Jolies on the Suggested User List . Several months later, I have over a half million people following me. Most of them? They have no idea who I am either. So why are they still following?
Paul Stoddart from Microsoft, Paul Mead from VCCP and Alex Hoye from Latitude combine to answer some probing questions: What does Microsoft's launch of Bing mean for your PPC strategy? What new tools will make your search campaigns more efficient.
How cool is this? On Monday, I posted "Social Media & Video Strategies To Be Held With SES San Jose: . It broke the news that ClickZ, YouTube and Google will be holding an event on August 11, 2009, in conjunction with SES San Jose 2009 . 11:03 : Here at the T-Mobile-Google MyTouch 3G Launch event at the Skyline Studios on the west side. This event is a much more casual affair than the G1 launch from last September. There's no agenda in the USB drive and seemingly no Google people present. Google must be the surprise speakers. Also, the press releases are the same two T-Mobile and Geodelic issued June 22 when the news formally broke . Cole Brodman, senior vice president,
A big part of helping companies with Search Engine Optimization and content based marketing efforts is to assess the assets available. Digital Asset Optimization (DAO) efforts involving multiple media, file types and distribution /search channels isn't going to be efficient or effective unless there's a firm grasp of a company's available media and content production processes.
With the announcement last night that it will launch a lightweight OS optimized for Web apps that run on Netbooks, Google has set its sights on a future that's already become reality for many Web professionals. In that future, the browser is the de facto OS, running connected e-mail, productivity apps, and other chores while leaving only odd jobs (albeit important ones) such as security for the system software to handle.

Google Chrome OS Powered Netbooks

Last night Google announced that the company is taking a new direction with its Chrome project, and expanding Chrome beyond just being an optimized web browser, and into an entire operating system, Google Chrome Operating System. Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code,

How Social Bookmarking Builds Clout

An article in SiteProNews about social bookmarking says this : That's the power of social bookmarking. It's put a technology behind word of mouth sharing of web sites that anyone can use. How true that is. The author, Tinu AbayomiPaul, mentions three benefits to social bookmarking: More links More traffic More credilibity I agree with all of those. And she uses a great analogy to back up her credibility point. You can read her article. I won't belabor it.
