Twitter's real-time search capability has great appeal to anyone wanting to get the pulse of what people are actually tweeting about. Media entities are taking note; companies are using it to deliver fast customer service responses. But I'm still not using Twitter search for my news and information. When I search for news, I stick with Google (and starting to experiment with Bing).

A few months ago, we launched our YouTube channels redesign in beta (first via a secret opt-in URL that many of you discovered, then as a visible opt-in link). Hundreds of thousands of you are now using the new version, have contributed a lot of useful feedback, and have helped make the new channels beta stronger and faster. Two bits of great news for Google's Android mobile computing efforts today, one on the end-user device side and one on the mobile monetization side for programmers and advertisers. First, word leaked of the HTC Hero, a new smartphone running Google's Android OS, as well as a new user environment called HTC Sense. Engadget's Thomas Ricker describes Sense as an environment : that puts at-a-glance info right up front on the home screen where it belongs.

I spent most of yesterday at the OMMA Social conference here in New York with my colleague, Reprise Media Marketing Director Anthony Iaffaldano . We both came away impressed by the consistently interesting panels and the tasty almond crusted chicken for lunch.

With so many ad networks on the scene, it takes work for any single one to get noticed. Specific Media made a splash with a 10th anniversary party at its new Manhattan outpost on 745 Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park and the landmark Plaza Hotel. (Sorry, forgot the camera.) At the party last week, I got a chance to meet Chief Operating Officer Chris Vanderhook, one of the three brothers who founded and manage the business that has a headquarters in Irvine, CA.

The "film" will surely rule the box office for some time, but not everyone will blindly fork over their cash. Amazingly, more than a few folks are searching on " transformers 2 reviews ." Critical responses vary. E! Online gives the film an "A-," while Rolling Stone says it might be the worst film of the decade.
