by Mike Krumboltz Karl Rove . Folks either love him or hate him, but everybody pays attention when the cuddly strategist makes a prediction. Especially if that prediction goes against the GOP. Searches are soaring on " rove map " and " rove electoral map " after word broke that the boy genius predicted a landslide victory for Barack Obama . We can almost hear Dubya screaming "Judas!" Or maybe not. We doubt that Mr. Rove is rooting for an Obama win,

by Mike Krumboltz At long last, the 2008 election is here. And yet, despite the excitement, many folks are still talking about the Florida nightmare from?Y2K. Remember that one? Dubya vs. Gore. The contest dragged on and on?thanks to those bloody hanging chads. Could the Sunshine State experience a similar train wreck today? Finding Dulcinea hosts an interesting article on whether or not America has improved the voting process since 2000.

To appease Justice Department concerns about their search ads tie-up, Yahoo and Google have offered to cap what Yahoo can make through the deal at 25 percent of its total search revenue, the Wall Street Journal reports . Perhaps a bigger deal for search marketers: The revised deal would let advertisers opt out of having their ads distributed on Yahoo results pages. Yahoo's Political Dashboard service, which I wrote about earlier this morning in a wrap up of places to track the 2008 Election Results , has predicted Barack Obama as the winner of today's election'. but isn't it a little too early already? Well, I've read a lot of Twitters about Yahoo predicting Obama to win the White House already, and here's the deal, Yahoo has not come out with an official Yahoo prediction as of yet,

by Claudine Zap Poor Tom Bradley . Seems that the failed 1982 candidate for California governor will only be remembered for?confusing the poll numbers. Back then, after showing a solid lead in the polls, the African American candidate lost to the other guy (a white guy). Thinking is that voters who don't support the non-white candidate won't fess up to pollsters. So voters say they're undecided or, worse, say they're supporting the candidate they don't end up voting for.

Posted by great scott! Last weekend at Scary SEO, Dave Snyder gave a very solid presentation on Information Environment Design what the rest of us would call Information Architecture. Duncan Morris also wrote about information/site architecture on SEOmoz very recently . While absorbing both of these presentations, I couldnt help but think once again of the analogy I repeatedly come back to when trying to explain Info/Site Architecture to people: the filing cabinet .

by Mike Krumboltz They say that voting is every American's duty. Maybe so, but it can also be a rewarding experience for those who know where to go. Numerous retailers are giving away free stuff. All you have to do is cast your ballot. The Christian Science Monitor reports that you can get a free coffee at Starbucks "just for saying you voted." At Krispy Kreme, simply wear an "I voted" sticker and you're in donut heaven. USA Today lists more freebies.
