comScore today reported that U.S. Internet users viewed more than 12 billion online videos during May 2008, a 45 percent increase from a year ago. Google Sites ranked as the top U.S. video property that month with 4.2 billion videos viewed (representing a 35 percent share of all videos viewed). YouTube.com accounted for more than 98 percent of all videos viewed at the property, making Google Video less popular than Hulu.com, a joint venture of NBC and Fox,

Guns N’ Roses: Locked and Loaded

Back in 1987, Axl Rose welcomed us to the jungle. Now it's time to return the favor. After more than a decade of silence, Guns N' Roses will finally (finally!) release a new single into the wild. But?his band's return is only part of the story. More interesting is the fact that the single, Shackler's Revenge , will?premiere as a track for the Rock Band 2 videogame. The New York Times points out that the deal "underscores how important to the music business games have been.
AOL has begun implementing AdTech's ad platform across some of its properties, as reported by AdAge today. I confirmed this with a company spokesperson, who told me in an e-mail that AOL's properties will be fully transitioned from DoubleClick's Dart for Publishers to AdTech's platform by early to mid 2009. AOL bought the German ad management firm last year. "DoubleClick is fully aware of the transition, and we're working with them so that everything runs smoothly,

This time its AdAge's Abbey Klaassen earning accolades around our office for her insightful take on the impact of quality score and its effect on Hollywood. She argues that because each film they market is a discrete short-term campaign and usually revolves around high volume keywords like "Angelina Jolie" or "Jack Black,

Goodbye Windows Live Expo

I am not sure where I have been for the past two years, but today is the first time I have heard about Windows Live Expo - today is also the day I heard about its scheduled demise. Apparently this classified ad platform was considered to be a major threat for Craigslist, and this month, on July 31, Microsoft will pull the plug and the classified service launched back in February of 2006.
Sometime in 2005, Google has launched the Code Search, a vertical search property that indexes and parses published source code on the web giving users (more particularly, code developers and programmers) a flexible search engine to find what source codes are already available.

Babies Got Bucks

OK, the twins are here. Now the question is, which charities benefit? As paparazzi hope to make a small fortune with candid shots of Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, those in the business of trafficking celebrity baby pictures estimate the fraternal twins are?worth up to $20 million . The sum not only beats out older sis Shiloh's $4.1 million paycheck (which went to Namibian hospitals ), but it's?more than double what J.Lo's lucrative pair, Emme and Max, earned.
